MakerReels turns an App Store link into short-form video ads. This page says exactly what we collect to do that, which services touch it, and how you delete all of it. No legalese padding.
What we collect, and why
- Your email address — for magic-link login and, if you leave it on, one email when a batch finishes rendering (off by default for nothing else; toggle it in Settings).
- The App Store URLs you paste and the public App Store metadata behind them (name, icon, screenshots, description) — that's the raw material your ads are made from.
- What the machine makes for you — scripts, voiceovers, rendered videos, and the per-app Brand Memory you edit (differentiator, tone, audience, default cast member).
- Plan and credit state — your plan, credit balance, and credit spends/refunds, so billing is honest.
- Basic abuse-prevention metadata — IP-based rate-limit counters and a cookie that meters anonymous free pulls. Product analytics events are stored without your identity attached.
We never see or store your card details — payment goes straight to Stripe. We don't sell data, run ads, or use third-party ad trackers. Cookies: one httpOnly session cookie for login, one free-pull meter. That's the list.
The services that process it
Making your ads takes a small crew of processors, each getting only what its job needs:
- Stripe — payments, subscriptions, and your billing details.
- OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google — the language models that write ad scripts receive the public App Store metadata and your Brand Memory notes (never your email or billing data). OpenAI also powers some video generation.
- ElevenLabs — turns scripts into voiceovers.
- fal.ai — renders the AI-creator videos (our synthetic cast; no real person's likeness, and none of your personal data).
- Resend — delivers login links and batch-done emails.
- IONOS — hosts the app and database.
How long we keep it
Everything lives until you delete it: your account data, batches, and rendered videos stay so your Library actually works. Login links expire in 15 minutes and are single-use. Anonymous analytics events aren't tied to you at all.
Your rights — including the delete button
You can access everything we hold on you by logging in — it's all visible in the product. And you can delete all of it yourself: Settings → Delete my account wipes your batches, ads, videos, app memories, login tokens, account row, and your Stripe customer record (Stripe retains only what tax law requires). It runs immediately and there is no undo.
EU/UK folks: our lawful bases are contract (running the product you signed up for) and legitimate interest (abuse prevention). For anything this page doesn't answer — access, correction, complaint — email hello@makerreels.com and a human answers.
